The equipment will allow the EMA response teams such as Local Operation Centers to continue their work more effectively and safely.

Mr. Hasan Kodra, Acting Director of Administration and Finance, Emergency Management Agency, Ms. Xheva Berisha, UNDP Project Manager, and EMA officials were present at the handover which took place at the Emergency Management Agency premises.

While accepting the donation, on behalf of the staff, Mr. Kodra expressed gratitude and appreciation for the continuous support from UNDP in all previous periods, but especially in the management process with COVID-19 Pandemic.

With great consideration to the leaders of UNDP, Mr. Kodra in his remarks once again highlighted the fact that the continuous assistance and support from UNDP is of particular importance, as it connects several dimensions in the field of responsibility of AME to the citizens of Kosovo, at the same time complements and facilitates the implementation of public responsibilities that AME has in front of the citizens.

“UNDP is committed to continue supporting the Kosovo institutions during the pandemic to continue delivering their services as effectively as possible and to effectively manage to protect peoples live”, said Ms. Xheva Berisha.

Working at the heart of UN Kosovo Team, UNDP in Kosovo has been supporting the people and institutions of Kosovo to prepare for, respond to, and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic since the outbreak, focusing particularly on the most vulnerable. We have rapidly shifted focus, responding swiftly and efficiently and reorienting our programme to assist Kosovo’s efforts to stop the spread of the virus, helping to protect people from the pandemic and its impacts, respond during the outbreak, and recover from the economic and social impacts in the months to come.
