UNDP in Kosovo continues to support Kosovo in effectively managing the COVID19 pandemic

May 7, 2020

Today, UNDP Kosovo Resident Representative Ms. Maria Suokko met with Acting Minister Xhelal Sveçla, of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration on 7 May,  to hand over 15 laptops with docking stations.

Acting Minister Sveçla accepted the equipment on behalf of the Inter-Institutional Group for Incidence Management (IGIM) who is responsible for planning, coordination and decision-making in managing the COVID19 pandemic. The ability of members of the IGIM to continue working uninterrupted and be able to meet virtually whenever it is required is of outmost importance. The IGIM is led by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration.

Since the spread of the pandemic, UNDP Kosovo has expanded its support toward Kosovo Institutions in managing the pandemic by focusing on front-liners such as Kosovo Police, Emergency Management Agency staff, Ministry of Health, Kosovo Institute for Public Health and other relevant institutions.

UNDP’s contribution will make the work of the brave women and men a little bit easier to successfully continue managing the COVID19 pandemic.
