Strengthening institutions

Creating efficient, accountable and democratic governance in Kosovo is central in reaching the EU integration objectives. Hence, improving institution and fighting corruption are put forth as strategic priorities.

Efficiency. Accountability. Participation

Several public administration reforms have been implemented over the years, improving governing institutions at all levels. But while progress has been observed, the maturity of the legislative, judiciary and democratic institutions still requires further development. The capacity of local authorities also needs to be raised, so that public services can be delivered to the people. Moreover, civil society organizations should be developed, allowing them to hold governments accountable and to participate in policy-making processes.
