One hundred youth from all communities living in Mitrovica joined together to clean the Ibër/Ibar river often considered as the division line between K-Albanians and K-Serbs living in this northern city of Kosovo.
The work of these 100 people is supported by UNDP and implemented by two women NGOs who recruited these people so everybody could have a cleaner and safer environment.
This project shows UNDPs message: We are all in the same boat. We share the same planet, and in Mitrovica you share the same river. We can only progress by collaborating. Kosovo is multiethnic and should treasure its diversity. UNDPs projects are all designed and implemented with this in mind, said Frode Mauring the UNDP Kosovo Resident Representative.
Mauring added that the river should bring people closer not devide them.

" Give your best so that the river can shine, so that it symbolises not a boundary but the glue between communities", ha siad.
The project worth 50 thousand Euros, will last for three months and according to the UNDP Resident Representative it is only one brick in building a prosperous Kosovo.
Today, this project will give hope and is one more brick toward building a better future for all communities: A multiethnic, safe, clean and prosperous Kosovo.
