According to the Office for Good Governance’s Broad Survey of Persons with Disabilities in Kosovo (2011), there are approximately 150,000 people living with various disabilities in Kosovo who suffer from discrimination in their everyday lives. One major area of exclusion is within the workforce. This needs to change!
On the 27th of June, we brought together people with disabilities, employers, disability organisations and officials in an informal setting to open up discourse around creating a more diverse workforce in Kosovo!
There was a documentary screening, photographic exhibition and open discussion emphasising the importance of inclusion in the workplace.
It was a fantastic opportunity for different areas of Kosovan society to connect and increase cooperation amongst organisations and employers, people with disabilities and the greater community, the government and the media. All areas of employment integration, social inclusion and discrimination awareness were addressed.
The event took place at Sirius Hotel"
