The Deputy Head of Mission of the Norwegian Embassy, Mr. Stein-Ivar Lothe Eide and UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Alessandra Roccasalvo met with Presidents of the Basic Court and Court of Appeals at the Palace of Justice on Wednesday, 1 August.
At the Basic Court visit, guests viewed the refurbished archives of the Basic Court of Pristina, made possible by the generous contribution of the Norwegian Embassy and implemented by UNDP.
The visit began with introductory remarks by the President of the Basic Court, Ms. Afërdita Bytyqi, and the President of the Court of Appeals, Mr. Hasan Shala, to express their gratitude for the Norwegian government and UNDP’s support in case management. Representatives from UNDP and the Norwegian Embassy then toured the Palace of Justice to view the tangible results of their contribution, such as shelves and infrastructure to better organize and access case records.
The Norwegian Deputy Head of Mission and UNDP commended the Courts for their efforts in refurbishment, and for serving a central role in Kosovo’s European integration. With the trust and dedication of long-term partnerships, each new contribution can go a long way.
