Global Meeting on Preventing Violent ExtremismMay 29, 2018
The Second Global Meeting on Preventing Violent Extremism organized by UNDP Oslo Governance Centre in partnership with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo, Norway took place last week. UN Development Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Ulrika Richardson attended.
The objective of the global meeting on PVE was to assess progress made on research, programming and policy support since the last meeting held in 2016 and to offer new recommendations aimed at enhancing UNDP’s future efforts and the global drive towards PVE research, policy-development and programmatic interventions as part of the UNDP Global Programme on Development Solutions for the Prevention of Violent Extremism (2017–2020).
Presence of the Resident Representative in this conference was important as UNDP in Kosovo is working with Kosovo institutions in addressing this pressing issue and supports the local stakeholders in implementing the Strategy on Prevention of Violent Extremism and Radicalization Leading to Terrorism 2016-2020 and its accompanying action plan. Our thematic publications were displayed and shared with all interested parties.
