Youth Learn How to Blog
Between 8 to 12 May, eleven curious and engaged teens from different backgrounds gathered at the Municipal Training Centre in Gjilan/Gnjilane to learn more about reaching out to the world through blogging.
It is the first meet up out of many to come, an event supported and created by UNDP´s projects “Support to Anti-Corruption Efforts in Kosovo” (SAEK) and “Social Media for Innovative Local Empowerment” (SMILE) to strengthen Kosovo youths engagement in social media and increase public influence in society and daily issues. The aim is also to encourage them to share thoughts online and discuss their interests as well as have them participate actively in their communities.
The day began with a wild brainstorming and sharing ideas on how to create an interesting and attractive blog that makes readers return to your platform. What makes you a good blogger and which audience do you want to reach were two recurring topics in the discussion. The second day focused on learning the basics of photography and how to take good photos for their blogs with disposable cameras.
“I was very happy to be a part of this workshop, because it is the first of its kind, focusing on using the internet for young people to promote their ideas. It was a learning and sharing experience, but most importantly we came up with new ideas on how to work together,” said Hekuran Aliu, a participant at the workshop.
During 12-16 May, a workshop will be held in Prizren, while from 19 to 23 May, in Prishtinë/Priština.
