Launching of citizen driven innovation challenge
"For Digital Prishtina" invites youth to change their city. On Wednesday 7 May, the launching of the citizen- driven challenge called "For Digital Prishtina" took place at the Municipality of Prishtinë/Priština as a partnership between the municipality, UNDP Kosovo and ICK (Innovation Centre Kosovo). The project will be running until end of December 2014 with the aim to contribute to a better governance and increased transparency in the Kosovo capital.
The purpose is also to increase involvement of youth in the public sector and to highlight governance issues in the municipality by people’s driven innovation. Individuals are encouraged to take action and to develop innovative solutions for important social issues in forms of web or mobile applications and send the idea to this webpage: www.openideas.me/kosovobefore 1 June 2014.
On the 8 June interested participants will be convened for a developing weekend at ICK to develop their ideas with mentoring support as well as attend short talks and discussions on related topics. The participants will also present their ideas to the Mayor and UNDP and ICK representatives.
The two winner ideas will be rewarded with financial support and training vouchers. Further development of the tools will be supported by the Municipality of Prishtinë/Priština and UNDP Kosovo.
